In what seems like a daunting tasks for ECOWAS envoys as well as United Nations representatives, ormer Kano’s Emir, Sanusi meets Niger’s juntaThe former Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi, has met with the military coup leaders in the Republic of Niger amid international pressure to reinstate ousted President Mohamed Bazoum.
In a photo released on twitter on Wednesday evening, Sanusi, who was also a former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) met the military leadership on Wednesday after the junta aborted a meeting with representatives of the African Union (AU) and the Economic Community of West Africa States (ECOWAS).
Although, details of their discussion is still being kept to chest by Sanusi, but word was rife that the former CBN boss is seeking an amicable resolution to political loggerhead between Niger Republic and ECOWAS.
