The move by pro- Biafra agitator, Simon Ekpa to enforce his two weeks sit-at-home order in the South -West failed to materialise after all as people went about their normal business especially in Anambra State.
Feelers from the state capital showed that commercial activities went on unabated on Wednesday as people defied Ekpa’s warning by refusing to stay back at home.
Only recently, Governor Charles Soludo held meetings with stakeholders, such as traders, commercial banks managers and others, over the illegal sit-at-home order, where he assured them of maximum security of lives and properties.
In Awka, the state capital, traders, businesses and transporters, including banks, went about their daily activities as traders and buyers came out enmasse to transact businesses.
Commuters were seen at various motor parks, especially at the popular transport terminals booking and boarding to travel. Commercial buses and tricycles also operated fully without any form of molestation.
The situation was the same in Onitsha, and Nnewi, among others, markets and banks were open for business, as people were seen moving about freely
