Osun Retired HoS, Perm Secs To Support Adeleke

The Association of retired heads of Service and permanent secretaries in Osun State has expressed wholehearted support for Governor Ademola Adeleke’s developmental agenda. During a courtesy visit to the Governor’s office at the State Secretariat in Abere, the association’s chairman, Chief Inaolaji Aboaba, pledged their backing, emphasizing their crucial role as stakeholders in the state’s affairs and their contribution to Osun’s progress.

Chief Aboaba commended Governor Adeleke for prioritizing state infrastructure development and ensuring the timely payment of workers’ salaries, pensions, and arrears, despite limited financial resources. He also praised the Governor for reinstating the dignity of the civil service by abolishing the position of coordinating directors and recognizing only Permanent Secretaries as the career heads of Ministries and Agencies.

While showing gratitude for the support, Chief Aboaba urged the government to approve training programs for workers to enhance their service delivery, acknowledging that no government can function effectively without the dedication of civil servants. He also encouraged the government to allow the civil service to perform their duties without undue interference.

Furthermore, Chief Aboaba charged Governor Adeleke with implementing palliative measures for workers and retirees to mitigate the impact of fuel subsidy removal on their livelihoods.

In response, Governor Adeleke expressed his appreciation for the association’s visit and unwavering support. Speaking through his deputy, Prince Kola Adewusi, the Governor promised to collaborate with the retired heads of service and permanent secretaries to provide local training and retraining opportunities for workers to improve their skills and efficiency.

Governor Adeleke assured civil servants that his administration will continue to prioritize the prompt payment of salaries, pensions, and arrears, emphasizing their welfare. He sought the cooperation of civil servants to work together towards the greater advancement of the State.
