Adekunle Gold, the acclaimed Afrobeat’s artist, has made a serious allegation against some fellow musicians, alleging that they resort to using streaming farms to artificially inflate the popularity of their songs.
Taking to his Twitter account, he humorously criticized those whose songs rapidly climb to the top 20 spots on the music charts but quickly plummet below the top 20 within just a week.
In a playful manner, Adekunle Gold shared a viral clip of a lady laughing during an interview and insinuated that the funds people use to purchase “fertilizer” for the streaming farms might have been depleted.
Adekunle tweeted, “Songs wey dey top 20 last week don go 170 something, owo fertilizer ti ku waso.”
