Ary Borges scores hat-trick while Brazil beat Panama

Brazil’s Ary Borges showcased her talent by scoring the first hat-trick of the 2023 Fifa Women’s World Cup, propelling Brazil to a convincing victory over Panama.

The skilled winger impressed with two goals in the first half and then assisted Bia Zaneratto shortly after the interval with an impressive backheel pass. Ary’s goal-scoring prowess continued as she headed home the fourth goal for her team.

With this win, Brazil maintains a flawless record of winning all nine of their opening games at Women’s World Cups, establishing a strong position in Group F, especially after France’s draw against Jamaica.

Both of Brazil’s first-half goals came from perfectly delivered crosses from Debinha on the left, brilliantly met by Ary’s head. The first header beat Panama’s goalkeeper, Yenith Bailey, while the second was denied, but Ary capitalized on the rebound.

Ary’s unselfish play allowed her to set up her teammate Zaneratto for a superb team goal into the roof of the net, but she didn’t miss her chance to complete her hat-trick in the 70th minute, skillfully heading the ball through Bailey’s legs.
