Actress Kate Henshaw sparked controversy on social media following her meeting with Governor Sanwo-Olu at a high-profile event in Lagos.

Despite her frequent criticisms of the All Progressive Congress (APC), the governor’s party, Henshaw was seen exchanging pleasantries with him in a viral photo.
This led to a wave of criticism from netizens who believed that she was aligning herself with a political party that had been harsh towards supporters of the Labor Party, specifically during the recent governor’s race where she supported Peter Obi, the party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections.
Undeterred by the backlash, the talented actress swiftly addressed the criticism, expressing her lack of concern for people’s opinions. In a poised and composed manner, she clarified her stance, emphasizing that extending a polite greeting to the governor at a public event does not hinder her from openly criticizing inadequate leadership.
Taking to her Twitter handle, she wrote:
“Clearly, I have gotten ur knickers in a twist & and the itch is too much for you 2 ignore, just like I am too important to ignore.I won’t bother to explain becos it is far above your pay grade. Mr Gov knows the exchange we had. It won’t stop me speaking my mind. That’s the difference”.
