I connected Asake with Olamide for a feature, didn’t expect record deal – Yhemo Lee narrates

Nigerian actor and influencer Idowu Adeyemi, popularly known as Yhemo Lee, recently shared the story of how he helped connect Afrobeats superstar Asake with Olamide.

During an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, Yhemo Lee explained that he personally approached Olamide Baddo, the head of YBNL, and requested that he give Asake a chance, even if it was just a verse on a music single.

Yhemo Lee, who has been friends with Olamide for 13 years, admitted that he didn’t expect a record deal from the YBNL boss. However, he described the experience as unbelievable when Olamide heard a track he made with DanDizzy and YKB, liked it, and reached out. It was during their online interaction that Yhemo Lee advocated for Asake.

According to Yhemo Lee, Olamide requested an audio clip after a series of conversations, which Yhemo promptly recorded and sent back to him. Following this, Olamide started discussing promotions, and within two days, he expressed his interest in signing Asake to YBNL.

Yhemo Lee revealed that after the discussion, he went straight to Olamide’s house, where the contract was already prepared, and Asake signed the forms on the same day.
