Rema’s ‘Calm down’ makes history: most played on US radio

Rema, the acclaimed Afrobeats superstar whose real name is Divine Ikubor, has achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first African artist to secure a number-one hit on the overall US Radio chart, according to Billboard.

His song “Calm Down,” featuring American superstar Selena Gomez, reached the top spot on the chart this week, marking a historic achievement for the young music star.

With an impressive 97.68 million audience impressions on American radio stations during the review period, the hit single solidified its position as the most-played song on American radio stations. It surpassed Miley Cyrus’ popular track “Flowers” to claim the coveted top spot.

Presently, the song is positioned at number three on the esteemed Billboard Hot 100 chart. Projections indicate that it is poised to ascend to the second spot next week; potentially, it is projected to displace ‘Flowers’ from number two next week.
