Filmmakers wanted to take advantage of my body – Bimbo Ademoye exposes colleagues, speaks on sex-for-role

Bimbo, a renowned Nigerian actress, bravely opened up about her experiences with movie producers in a recent interview.

She shared that she was approached by numerous producers who sought to exploit her body for roles, but she stood firm and declined their inappropriate requests.

Speaking to the Sun Newspaper on a Sunday, the talented actress shed light on the challenges faced by many actresses in the industry.

However, she emphasized that her journey started on a positive note, thanks to the support of her senior colleague, Uduak Isong.

Bimbo Ademoye expressed her gratitude towards Uduak Isong, who played a pivotal role in her entry into the Nigerian film industry. Isong acted as a mentor and caretaker, guiding Bimbo through her early steps in the industry.

Bimbo’s revelation sheds light on the harsh realities that some actors and actresses face in their pursuit of a career in the entertainment industry.

Her courage in standing against exploitation serves as an inspiration to aspiring artists and reinforces the importance of setting boundaries and maintaining dignity in the face of adversity.

“To be honest with you, everybody wanted to make use of the body. Everybody wanted me to play the sexy secretary or the girl that snatched someone’s husband, or the one that snatched the other person’s boyfriend. I can say that I have been very lucky.

I came into the industry through Uduak Isong. I didn’t experience the issues of sleeping with producers because of roles and I have never slept with anybody for that. She was more like a mother to me when I started.”
