The Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ Correspondent Chapel, Ebonyi State Council, has commended the state Governor, Chief Francis Nwifuru on the appointment he has made so far since assumption of office.
The chapel said over 80 percent of youths have been appointed by the Governor in various positions which according to it has integrated youths into governance of the state.
The chapel stated this in a communique issued after it’s meeting in Abakaliki the state capital.
The communique which was signed by the chapel Chairman and Secretary, Comrades Samson Nwafor and Nabob Ogbonna commended its members for their professional and patriotic conducts especially during the last general elections.
It congratulated Nwifuru on his victory at the polls and subsequent successful swearing-in as the 4th Executive Governor of the state and assured him of its avowed co-operation and partnership in disseminating the policies and programmes of his administration.
“The Chapel commends His Excellency, the Governor of Ebonyi State, on the pedigree of individuals he has appointed to help him drive the policies and programmes of his administration, especially for giving 80% of his appointments so far to the youths.
“The Chapel notes that now that the Governor has made the youths the leaders of today, by fully integrating them into governance and making them the fulcrum of his administration, the youths on their part, should endeavor not to disappoint by ensuring that they live up to the tasks entrusted on them.
“The Chapel particularly lauds the Governor for appointing Dr Monday Uzor and Dr Boniface Nwankwo who are members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists into his government as Chief Press Secretary and Special Assistant (SA) on Documentation, respectively. The Chapel notes that their appointments are well deserved, and charges them and other new appointees to justify the confidence reposed in them.
“The Chapel further pleads with the Governor to appoint more members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Ebonyi State, into his government. This will accordingly, solidify the bond existing between journalists and government in the state”, the communique stated.
