Just in: PDP G-5 in closed-door meeting with Tinubu

Currently, President Bola Tinubu is in a closed-door meeting at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, with four former governors of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde.

The group of former governors, also known as the G-5 governors, including Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, arrived at the State House at approximately 4:21 p.m.

They went directly to the president’s office for their meeting. In addition to Seyi Makinde, the other former governors present at the meeting are Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, Samuel Ortom of Benue State, Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State, and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State.

Wike has visited the State House about three times in one week.

Recall that the group of former governors, known as the G-5 governors at the time, were reportedly not supportive of their party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, during the February 25 presidential election.
