Barely 10-days in the office, President Bola Tinubu has officially sworn in Senator George Akume as the new Secretary of the Federation.
The low-key event took place at the council chamber on Wednesday as Senator Akume took his Oath of Office in the presence of government officials, while promising to work tirelessly within the law and tenets of his office.
Vice President Kashim Shettima; President of the Senate, Ahmed Lawan; Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State, Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Dr FolasadeYemi-Esan and the spouse of the new SGF, Mrs Regina Akume were some of the dignitaries present at the swearing in ceremony
Recall President Tinubu had appointed Akume as the SGF, while outgoing Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila was also appointed as his new Chief of Staff. Also, former Deputy Governor of Jigawa State, Sen. Ibrahim Hadejia, was appointed as Deputy Chief of Staff.
