President Buhari Leaves Nigeria Much Better Than He Met It, Says Governor Ganduje

In a recent statement, Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State has hailed President Muhammadu Buhari for his remarkable contributions in transforming Nigeria, stating that the country is now in a significantly better state than when he assumed office.

Governor Ganduje commended President Buhari’s leadership and dedication to the nation, highlighting the progress made in various sectors during his tenure. He acknowledged the challenges faced by the administration but emphasized that the president’s commitment to good governance had yielded positive outcomes.

Speaking at a public gathering in Kano, Governor Ganduje highlighted several key achievements that have propelled Nigeria forward during President Buhari’s time in office. He mentioned improvements in infrastructure development, agricultural reforms, anti-corruption efforts, and enhanced security measures.

According to the governor, the Buhari administration’s focus on infrastructure has resulted in the successful completion of numerous projects across the country, including road networks, bridges, railway systems, and the revitalization of airports. These advancements have not only improved transportation but also created job opportunities and facilitated economic growth.

Furthermore, Governor Ganduje praised President Buhari’s commitment to agricultural transformation, which has boosted food production, reduced import dependency, and empowered local farmers through initiatives such as the Anchor Borrowers’ Program and the Presidential Fertilizer Initiative. These measures have contributed to Nigeria’s self-sufficiency in various food commodities.

Governor Ganduje also commended the administration’s relentless efforts in fighting corruption, which he described as a  cancer that had hindered Nigeria’s progress for many years. Through various anti-corruption agencies and policies, President Buhari’s government has made significant strides in curbing corruption, recovering stolen assets, and promoting transparency in public affairs.

Regarding security, Governor Ganduje acknowledged the initial challenges faced by the nation, particularly the insurgency in the Northeast, but noted the remarkable progress made in combating terrorism and other criminal activities. He praised the Nigerian Armed Forces and other security agencies for their dedication and sacrifices in safeguarding the nation’s territorial integrity.

Governor Ganduje’s statement comes as President Buhari’s tenure draws to a close, with the nation preparing for a new leadership transition following the recently concluded elections.

While opinions on President Buhari’s legacy may differ, Governor Ganduje’s remarks reflect the perspective of a state leader who believes that Nigeria has experienced significant improvements under the outgoing president’s administration. The nation now eagerly awaits the incoming leadership, hoping to build upon the achievements of the past years and address the remaining challenges to ensure a brighter future for all Nigerians.
