Taiwo Awoniyi out to wreck Arsenal as relegation battle heats up

By David Kabiyesi

Out of favor Super Eagles striker, Taiwo Awoniyi will be armed to the teeth when Nottingham Forest file out against wounded Arsenal this evening.

The former Hertha Berlin striker is in the best form of his life at a time his club is battling to stay afloat, and today’s game present another opportunity for the young Nigerian to increase his goal tally.

Awoniyi has scored four goals in his last two Premier League and he will be vying to become first Forest player to score two goals or more goals in three consecutive Premier League natch since Bryan Roy in 1995.

Nottingham Forest away from home is a fixture that hasn’t been kind to Arsenal in recent years and this season’s meeting is perhaps more important to one side than it is to the other.

It won’t have been that long ago when many Gunners supporters looked at the trip to the City Ground and viewed it as a must-win game with regard to the Premier League title race. Whilst that still might be the case, it will potentially only be delaying the inevitable by around 24 hours as City look set to cling the title.
