NFF advance team head to Monrovia ahead Sierra Leone clash

Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) advance team are expected in Monrovia in coming days to comb the Liberian capital for suitable hotels ahead of next month’s AFCON qualifiers against Sierra- Leone, iwitnesslive.com can exclusively report.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) ruled that Sierra Leone home clash against Nigeria Super Eagles will be stage at Monrovia National Stadium after the continental soccer-governing overulled Sierra Leone FA request to stage the tie at home.

Sierra Leone FA plot to drag Super Eagles to Bio International Stadium hit the rocks after CAF raised objection about standard of the pitch in Bio as well non-availability of five star hotels.

Toward this end NFF will be sending its advance team to search for good hotels as well as put all neccessary logistics in place ahead of Nigeria’s arrival.

” The FA will be sending its advance team to Monrovia to secure good hotels and put in place all necessary logistics ahead of the match,” NFF inside source revealed.

Nigeria leads Group A with 9 points from four matches, needing two points to secure its place at 2023 AFCON slated for Cote d’Ivore next January.
