President Muhammadu Buhari has wielded the big stick by approving the immediate suspension of Adamawa Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) Hudu Yunusa Ari.
The suspension is in effect while the Inspector General of Police completes his investigation into the behavior and activities of the REC during the Supplemental election in Adamawa State.
Also, the President gave the Inspector General of Police instructions to look into Ari and, if necessary, bring charges against him.
Although the results were still being tallied, Ari proclaimed Aishatu Binani of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the victor of the rerun election.
