2023 Census: Soludo inaugurates security, media sub-committees in Anambra

The National Population Commission (NPC) inaugurated the local sub-committees for Security/Logistics and Publicity in Anambra.

Gov. Chukwuma Soludo, who performed the brief ceremony, said the state would participate fully in the exercise and was doing all to ensure the people were well mobilised.

Soludo, who was represented by Prof. Solo Chukwulobelu, said the errors of 2006 when the Southeast refused to be counted would be avoided.

He said the government used the opportunity of the campaigns ahead of the recent elections to wend the message to the nooks and crannies of the state.

He said the communities, Churches, Civil Societies and other Community-based stakeholders were encouraged to join in the planning and enlightenment efforts of the Federal and Anambra governments in the State.

Soludo said Census was crucial as election as it was a tool for effective governance which was the essence of the existence of government.

Soludo directed all the state media channels to develop a message on the census which would be played before and after every news hour.
