11 terrorists killed, weapons seized in Kaduna: Defence Headquarters

11 terrorists were reportedly killed in Kaduna by Operation Whirl Punch troops using special forces, according to the Military Headquarters.

Maj.-Gen. Musa Danmadami, the DHQ spokesman, revealed this in a statement on Sunday. He said that the troops had cleared terrorist enclaves at the villages of Bagoma, Rema, Bilugai, Dagara, Sabon Lay, Gagumi, Katakaki, and Randagi, all of which are located in the Birnin Gwari local council area, on Saturday.

In a battle near the villages of Kakangi and Katakaki, the military reportedly defeated the terrorists, forcing a number of them to leave, according to the statement.

According to the staement, troops exploited the “general area” and recovered two AK-47 rifles, two AK-47 magazines, 57 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, seven machetes and six motorcycles.

“The military high command commends troops and encourages the general public to avail troops with credible and timely information on criminal activities,” stated the DHQ.
