Following a knee injury that kept him out of action for six months, Colombian Luis Diaz resumed training on Thursday.
At the beginning of October, Diaz was hurt when he collided with Thomas Partey in a game against Arsenal. The winger trained on his own until he was able to join the group on Thursday following surgery and progress in his rehabilitation.
Diaz sped up his recovery by training with Liverpool’s youth teams during the international break.
The Colombian hopes to assist the Reds in their remaining 12 games this season and make Jurgen Klopp’s squad for Saturday’s match against Manchester City.
Diaz can play a significant role in Liverpool’s quest for a top-four finish, as he demonstrated last season when he was one of the team’s best players after joining from Porto in the winter transfer window. Liverpool is already out of cup competitions and Europe.
