Eagles can wipe out hardship on Nigerians’ faces, says Ahmed Musa

Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa has said Nigerians are going through hardship and football can bring smiles to their faces hence the resolve of his team to beat Guinea-Bissau on Friday and put one leg to the 2023 African Cup of Nations.

The West Africans will look to further improve their chances of earning a spot at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations finals when they take on the Djurtus in a matchday three encounter at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja, the venue where they lost the World Cup ticket to the Black Stars of Ghana

Musa, who currently plays for Turkish Super Lig club Sivasspor, claimed that the team has put that disappointment behind them.

“We know what happened a year ago here against Ghana. That is behind us now. This is the AFCON qualifier and we want to make the fans happy,” Musa said at a press conference mon Thursday.

“We know the hardship that is currently going on in the country and football is the only thing that unites Nigerians. We want to make them happy”.

The Super Eagles top Group B with six points from two games, while Guinea-Bissau are in second position with four points from same number of matches.
