The last may have not been heard on the intrigues and voting irregularities that characterised Enugu State’s gubernatorial elections after Labour Party (LP) candidate, Chijioke Edeoga filed a petition to stop the announcement of guber winner, iwitnesslive.com gathered
Labour Party had raised concerns over the series of irregularities during Saturday’s elections most especially at Nkanu East Council which polled 30,000 votes for Dr. Peter Mbah
Besides, the party wondered why Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) recorded 30,000 votes for a region where only N7,000 voters were accredited.
The allegation then delayed the collation of results by INEC returning officer in the state, Prof. Ofo Iwe who demanded that LP made their complains official.
Edeoga raised alarm over oon usage of BVAS during the excercise prompting Prof. Ofo Iwe to halt the collation of results until the allegation of overvoting is resolved.
