Crisis looms in APC over National Assembly position, calls for Adamu’s resignation

Word was rife in Abuja that the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) may be sitting on a time bomb following plans to zone its offices of presiding officers for the National Assembly following constant calls for party chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu to resign, iwitnesslive.com can report.

In a desperate move to nip the crisis in the bud, President-elect Bola Tinubu alongside another party top brass are expected to hold a crucial meeting after National Vice Chairman, Northwest of APC, Salihu Mohammed Lukman knocked the party for its Muslim-Muslim ticket.

Salihu Lukman believe power should be balanced within Tinubu’s administration and led the call for Adamu to be replaced with a Christian.

As the battle for presiding officers for the National Assembly heats up ahead of May 29,, Tinubu is expected to tables the topic before party bigwigs today while the president-elect is also under intense pressure to allow South-East produce Senate president.

Leading the pack is former Abia State governor and Senate Chief Whip, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu while Ebonyi state governor, David Umahi is backed by Ohaeneze to take up the role.
