The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) will form the leadership of the 10th Assembly after securing the majority of the seats following the results of the National Assembly elections held last Saturday.
According to the results released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) so far, the APC has claimed 49 out of the 89 declared so far.
The APC is closely followed by the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) which won 28 seats while Labour sits in third position with six seats. New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and Social Democratic Party (SDP) secured two seats each.
The Young Progressive Party (YPP) and All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) have so far produced one senator each.
There are 109 seats in the Red Chamber, made up of three seats per state and one for FCT.
