Professor Teddy Charles Adias, the Independent National Electoral Commission Returning Officer in Rivers State has announced the suspension of the collation of results of Saturday’s presidential election In the state.
Adias announced the suspension due to what he described as threat to his life.
The Vice Councillor of Federal University Otuoke in Bayelsa State had announced results of 21 out of the 23 local government areas
of the state before the suspension.
The remaining two local government areas of Obio Akpor and Degema which was billed to be collated this morning.
Professor Teddy Charles Adias the Vice Councillor of Federal University Otuoke in Bayelsa State said that those threatening his life have accused him of being responsible for all the alleged electoral malpractices in Rivers State.
He said that his private phone number was displayed on social media, claiming that he has received about a million calls from unknown callers who he said have been threatening his life.
Professor Teddy Adias said he will not resume collation until the matter is addressed by INEC.
