The Director-General of the Presidential Campaign Council of the All Progressives Congress, Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State failed to deliver his polling unit for the party as he lost to the Labour Party.
Peter Obi of the Labour Party defeated APC’s Bola Tinubu at polling unit 015, Kurumbo Ward B of Shendam Local Government Area of Plateau State where Governor Lalong voted.
Obi scored 104 votes while Tinubu recorded 88. Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party polled 8 votes, the presiding officer, Sowan Stephen, announced
Although Lalong, who is contesting Plateau South Senatorial District in Saturday’s election, won his polling unit in the senatorial race. He polled 143 votes to ward off challenges from PDP which scored 39 while Labour Party recorded 14 votes.
