With less than 24 hours to the General election in the country, the Lagos State House of Assembly Muslim Community has urged Nigerian especially Muslims to come out boldly and en mass to perform their civic responsibilities and vote wisely for the candidate of their choice.
The Muslim Community also urged the Youths to shun violence before, during and after the election. Muslim brothers and sisters should not engage themselves in any act of violence capable of harming the peaceful election rather they should be seen promoting peace as preached by prophet Mohammed ( SAW).
“No life is worth losing, any form of violence should be prevented irrespective of provocation, harassment, intimidation and confrontation from any person or group of people during the polls.
“It is the duty of a true Muslim to preach peace and unity for the betterment of the Nation.”
The Muslim community is using this medium to pray for all the candidates who are contesting for various political posts, charging them. to abide by the rules and regulations guiding the election.
“We appreciate efforts of both the Lagos State Government and the Federal government for providing adequate security in order to forestall any break down of violence that may arise doing the Polls. Lagos State is a peaceful State owing to the effort of the State Government that’s has taken adequate protection for it’s residents irrespective of tribe and religious affiliation.
“Nigeria needs serious prayer at this point as only the Almighty Allah would guide everyone throughput the election. Expectedly Saturdays election would be for presidential, House of Representatives and Senatorial elections.
“However, parents should keep watch of their wards so that they should not be used for thuggery for any political candidate. We therefore pray for our Muslim brothers and sisters who are contesting for Allah to grant them victory at the poll.
