Nigeria apex bank, Centeal Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has distant itself from news making the round that it has mandated all bank to accept N500 and N1000 as legal tender.
Online news handle were washed with news that CBN has succumbed to pressure mounted by Nigeria to suspend its new naira policy by restoring old N500 and N100 back into circulation , but CBN reacted and denied the report saying both N500 and N1000 cease to a legal tender.
Osita Nwanisobi, who is the Director, Corporate Communications, CBN urged Nigerians to turn deaf ears to such fake news.
Recall President Muhammadu Buhari had ordered CBN to reissue N200 notes in his nationwide broadcast.
