As Nigerians groan over the scarcity of new naira notes, angry protesters have taken over the streets of Ibadan, Oyo State capital, to register their displeasure.
The protesters called on President Muhammadu Buhari to sack the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, over the scarcity of naira and the hardship in the land.
The protesters made bonfires and blocked Ologuneru, Sango Polytechnic Road, Eleyele, and Mokola roundabout in Ibadan.
Armed policemen and soldiers were however spotted at the affected areas on Wednesday.
Iwitnesslive reports that the protests may escalate across the country with the Supreme Court adjourning the hearing of the suit filed by state governments against the federal government.
