One person has been confirmed killed in a fracas involving supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Jigawa State.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the state command, DSP Lawal Shi’isu Adam, said the clash occurred in Maigatari town, Maigatari Local Government Area of the state on Friday.
Adam said the incident happened when the PDP gubernatorial candidate arrived the town for a political rally in which one Abdullahi Isyaku age 35 of Gangare quarters lost his life.
The police command spokesperson maintained that “the victim was rushed to Gumel General Hospital and later died while receiving treatment”.
He also confirmed that five persons had been arrested in connection with the murder as the State Criminal Investigation Department sustained the probe.
