If it is possible to roll back the hands of time, Jorg Schmadtke would have gladly retain Victor Osimhen at Wolfburg.
Incoming Liverpool Sporting Director, Jorg Schmadtke is counting his losses for his impatience after he sold Victor Osimhen to Royal Chaleroi after weeks of goal drought.
The towering striker had failed to muster a single goal in 16 games while playing for Wolfsburg, and Schmadtke wasted no time in offloading the youngster to the Belgian club.
It is a different story today as Osimhen developed into one of the most sought-after strikers in the world after helping Napoli win the Scuddeto after 33-years wait, and Schmadtke is regretting his decision.
“It wasn’t a good move, in hindsight. When I came, he [Osimhen] was limping and running in circles.
“I was told that the strikers we had weren’t good enough. The most important lesson is that you have to be patient with some transfers.” he told Kicker, via Daily Mirror UK
