The Bauchi State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has organised a road walk to sensitise the public and mobilise support for the 2026 World Public Relations Forum event scheduled to hold in Abuja in November.
The exercise, which brought together public relations practitioners, media executives and other stakeholders, was also aimed at highlighting the role of public relations in effective communication and public engagement.
The participants commenced the road walk from the Bauchi Emir’s Palace through major city roads of Nasarawa, GRA and terminated at the Government House, Bauchi, while using the exercise to create awareness about the forthcoming international event.
Speaking during the exercise, the NIPR Chairman in Bauchi State, Muhammad Rabiu Wada, said the road walk was part of activities lined up nationwide ahead of the 15th – 21st November event.
Wada said similar exercises were being conducted simultaneously across the 36 states of the federation including FCT with a view to increase awareness and encourage wider participation in the World Public Relations Forum.
He called on members of the public, organisations and other stakeholders to identify with the initiative and participate in the programme.
The chairman disclosed that the Abuja event would feature traditional and cultural displays, as well as exhibitions of artefacts and other materials showcasing the heritage of participating states.
He said Bauchi State had abundant cultural and natural resources that could be showcased to a wider audience during the event.
Also speaking, Inuwa Bello commended the national leadership of NIPR for initiating the programme, stressing the importance of collective participation in promoting public relations and projecting the cultural identity of the states.
The event with large turnout of the NIPR members cut across various MDAs as well as roller skaters horse riders to add colourful to the event.
