Obidient Movement Seeks Partnership With Sodangi Chindo’s Campaign Team

Leaders of the Obidient Movement in Bauchi State have expressed readiness to collaborate with the campaign organisation of the National Democratic Congress NDC House of Representatives candidate, Hon. Sodangi Adam Chindo, ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The leaders, Micheal Sarkin Yaki stated this on September 30, 2026, when a nine-member delegation of the movement paid a visit to the candidate at his campaign office in Bauchi.

The meeting was attended by members of Chindo’s campaign team, including the Campaign Director-General, Youth Leader, Women Leader and Secretary in charge of stakeholder relations.

Speaking during the meeting, the leader of the Obidient delegation, Micheal Sarkin Yaki said the visit was aimed at establishing a working relationship with the campaign team and exploring areas of collaboration ahead of the election.

He said the delegation came under the leadership structure of the movement to seek an opportunity to participate in the campaign and contribute its human resources, communication networks and grassroots structures towards the campaign.

According to him, the Obidient Movement has leadership structures and supporters across the state, from the state level to local government areas and wards.

He said the movement has a large following in Bauchi State, which he estimated at more than 50,000 supporters.

He explained that its interest was not merely to secure positions within the campaign organisation, but to contribute its existing networks, volunteers, leaders and relationships with members of the public to strengthen grassroots mobilisation and communication.

Responding, Hon. Sodangi Adam Chindo expressed appreciation to the Obidient leaders for the visit and their willingness to work with his campaign organisation.

Chindo said his campaign would be based on trust, transparency and inclusiveness, assuring individuals and groups willing to contribute to the campaign that they would be given opportunities to play appropriate roles within the campaign structure.

He said constructive engagement with different groups and stakeholders remained important in building understanding and ensuring effective communication ahead of the 2027 elections.

The meeting also discussed the need for proper coordination between the different structures involved in the campaign, particularly in the areas of communication, mobilisation and engagement with communities at the local government and ward levels.

The engagement is expected to provide an avenue for the two sides to further define their areas of cooperation and establish a coordinated framework for future activities.

The meeting ended with an understanding on the need for continued dialogue and cooperation between the Obidient Movement and the campaign team as preparations for the 2027 general elections gather momentum.
