President Bola Tinubu has ended his working vacation in Europe and departed Paris, France, for Lagos, where he is expected to begin a series of political and official engagements.
Tinubu’s aircraft is expected to arrive at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos, on Tuesday, September 29, 2026.
The Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday.
According to Onanuga, Tinubu chose to return to Nigeria through Lagos to honour the memory of the late Chief Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola, widely regarded as the winner of the June 12, 1993 presidential election.
The President is expected to attend the premiere of a film commemorating Abiola on October 1, Nigeria’s Independence Day, at the Wole Soyinka National Theatre in Iganmu, Lagos.
Onanuga also said Tinubu would hold meetings with political leaders and associates in Lagos over the coming days as part of preparations for the 2027 general elections.
The presidential spokesman said Tinubu would return to Abuja after concluding his engagements in Lagos.
Tinubu left Abuja on August 30 for the working vacation, spending about a week in London before proceeding to Paris.
During his stay in France, the President attended a private dinner with French President Emmanuel Macron and held meetings with business leaders, including Vincent Bolloré of the Bolloré Group.
He also met with businessman and Chairman of First Holdings, Femi Otedola, on Monday.
Last week, Tinubu witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ogun State Government and DP World for the development of a deep-sea port in Ogun Waterside and a Blue Marine Economic Zone.
DP World, a global ports and logistics company, is expected to invest $7 billion in the proposed port and economic zone.
The President’s return to Nigeria comes as political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections continue to intensify.
