Kaduna State Government has announced the suspension of the 66th National Independence Day celebration earlier scheduled for Thursday, October 1, 2026.
The suspension was contained in a public announcement issued September 28, 2026, by the Hon. Commissioner, Ministry of Information and Culture, Ahmed Maiyaki and share Tuesday in kaduna to newsmen.
No specific reason was given for the suspension, according to the statement, the suspension, however takes immediate effect.
“This is to inform the general public that the Kaduna State Government has suspended the 66th National Independence Day Celebration, earlier scheduled to take place on Thursday, 1st October 2026.
“The suspension takes effect immediately, Monday, 28th September 2026,” the statement read.
The government regretted any inconvenience the decision may cause and appreciated the cooperation, understanding and support of the general public and all stakeholders.
