Presidential candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Seyi Makinde, has said that he would reset Nigeria and restructure her security architecture, economy and education among other critical sectors of the economy in four years if elected president in 2027.
Makinde who is the current governor of Oyo state, stated this on Monday at the North-Central Town Hall Meeting organized by APM in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital.
Speaking when addressing supporters including women in agriculture, market women, physically challenged persons, women and widows during the event, the APM presidential candidate said he would create special programmes for vulnerable groups to improve their livelihood.
Makinde listed four critical areas including security, economy education, and the socio-political environment of the country within four years when elected in 2027.
He said” The reset agenda can be concluded in four years. We had someone who was head of state in this country for 10 months, and he was able to end military rule and usher in the democracy we now enjoy in Nigeria.
“So we can reset Nigeria. Reset and give Nigeria a new security architecture. Reset and give Nigeria a new path for education. Reset our economy, utilizing data science and logic, and reset our socio-political environment in four years. That is our agenda,” he said.
“So as your president from May 29, 2027, we will run a transitional government of national unity that will culminate in new players and new agenda for Nigeria’s sustainable development.”
The APM presidential candidate said the 2027 election would be determined by Nigerian voters and not pundits,.propaganders or the number of giant billionaires mounted across the country by candidates
Makinde stressed that governance requires someone with energy to discharge the enermous task, saying he busy with day’s schedule beginning from Ibadan to Abuja holding meetings and traveling for three and half hours from Abuja to Lafia at night, and meetings with candidates in the North Central Zone till 2:00 AM.
The critised president Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s economic reforms, saying the saying midway into 2026, insecurity remains a big issue especially in the North Central, yet he could not find budgetary provision for the newly announced army divisions in the 2026 budget.
The Oyo state governor asked whether increased federal allocation to states has translated to fighting hunger or addressed heightened insecurity in the country, calling on Nigerians vote him as president in 2027
National Chairman of Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Yusuf Dantalle, said the party was not widely accepted with many Nigerians now joining in their thousands ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Dantalle said the number of governorship candidate under the platform of APM attest to the growing acceptance of the party by Nigerians, calling Nigerians to vote candidates of the party in the 2027 general elections.
