The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba (Dr) Rasidi Adewolu Ladoja (Arusa1), has appealed to youths all over Nigeria to eschew bitterness and political violence as general election is drawing nearer in Nigeria.
“Refuse to be used as political thugs or election riggers so that you will be able to fulfill your destiny as future leaders of our dear country Nigeria”, the Monach further said.
Speaking through Balogun of Ibadanland, Oba (Barr) Tajudeen Abimbola Ajibola, during the courtesy visit paid to Olubadan of Ibadanland by the students of the Leadership Center, University of Abuja, the Olubadan urged the youths, especially the students, to play their expected roles in nation building.
According to a press release issued and signed by the Chief Press Secretary to Olubadan of Ibadanland, Chief Ayoade Olugbemiga during the said visit to Olubadan at his palace,Oke Aremo, Ibadan, Kabiyesi enjoined the visitors to avail themselves the opportunities of being in Ibadan by visiting some tourist centers in the ancient city such as University of Ibadan, Cocoa House, Bowers Tower among others.
Earlier in his address, the leader of the team, Professor Abdulhamid Ozoltu Suleiman, said they were at the palace to receive royal blessings and to interact with the youths particularly students on how to be good leaders, and to let them know the need for good leadership.
According to Professor Abdulhamid, the visit would give the team more knowledge of Ibadanland being the capital of the then Western Region, home of the first developmental projects and the political nucleus of the Western Nigeria.
Present at the occasion were Senior Chief Adewuyi Odunade, Chief Olufemi Ogunwale Olibota, the Aare Ago Olubadan of Ibadanland and other dignitaries.
