The Federal Capital Territory ( FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike on Monday said he will never be bothered about the accusations of the All Progressives Congress ( APC) governors that his Rainbow Coalition would undermine the re-election bid of President Bola Tinubu.
Wike, who spoke to news men in Abuja after inspecting some projects, stated that his position to support the re-election of the president in 2027 with everything he has, remain unchanged.
He noted that he is prepared to tell the world why the APC governors are afraid of his Rainbow Coalition.
“My concern is that the president will be re-elected for the second term. That is my concern. And I made that known from the onset that I was going to support Mr. President with all my might and strength.”
Wike’s position is consistent with his recent explanation that his Rainbow Coalition is focused on mobilising cross-party support for Tinubu’s re-election and is separate from the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The position has, however, drawn objections from the Progressive Governors Forum, which said APC governors would not support political arrangements capable of undermining the party or its candidates in the 2027 elections.
Reacting to concerns that the Rainbow Coalition could destabilise the APC, Wike said he was disappointed by such assertions.
“It’s very, very disappointing to hear some people say the Rainbow Coalition will destabilize party. I don’t understand from which angle that will be.”
