Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra state displayed magnanimity at Amawbia Correction Center when he granted the release of popular Native Doctor Mr Chigozie Nwangwu aka Akwa Okuko who has been serving six months jail term .
Awka Okuko had pleaded guilty of the charges of misleading the general public with his phantom traditional miracles of making people wealthy under false pretences .
He had spent over a year at the facility of the Agunechemba Security Squad before his conviction which reduced his sentence.
Last three months he had made an application for his release though his term has not been completed and at exactly 5.32 pm Thursday, Governor Charles Soludo visited the Correction Center and signed his release.
Speaking shortly after the release the Special Adviser to Soludo on Youth Dr Omenugha thanked the Governor for his gesture adding that it is a manifestation of his determination to ensure that the concept of getting rich quick among the youths is not encouraged .
However, Akwa Okuko would still complete part of the sentence by carrying out Community Service of mentoring the younger generation as youth ambassador and would also denounce whatever he may have advertised while claiming to be a Native Doctor.
Meanwhile, other convicts of the same offence such as Eke Hit and Onyeze Jesus are still serving there respective jail terms at the Correction Center.
