The newly inaugurated Relax Tinubu is Fixing Nigeria (RTIFN) FCT chapter, on Friday took a swipe on the governors of the ruling All Progressives Congress ( APC) over their recent attack on FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike.
The group said the scathing remarks of the governors on Wike and his rainbow coalition reflects selfish ambition and not necessarily because the governors are so much interested in delivering President Bola Tinubu at the 2027 polls.
FCT Coordinator of the group, Comrade Donald Amagbo, that Wike has prepared ground for Tinubu’s electoral victory in Abuja, through infrastructures, and has also widened his influence beyond the reach of the governors across other states to support the President’s re-election.
Amagbo noted that, “First of all I wish to praise the wisdom of our father, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for bringing Ezenwo Nyesom Wike to the FCT, and I am sure you can see for yourself what the President has supported him to do in the FCT.
“The infrastructural turn around is unprecedented, and I am sure FCT residents, not only those who live in the urban areas, but particularly those in the rural areas can enjoy, for the first time, what those in the city have been enjoying since the Territory was created 50 years ago
“His performance in the FCT has given us a score card with which to campaign for the President’s second term in office. Residents will surely identity with the good road networks with street lights and drainages. That is the kind of fixing we are talking.”
Speaking earlier, the Director-General of the group, Bala charged members of the group to take the message to Nigerians with humility, and compassion, urging them to be abreast of the numerous good things the President has achieved so far.
”Our job is to go around the 36 states engaging the youth and grassroots to explain the achievements of Mr. President. He inherited a battered economy, and four years is not enough to fix everything. The policies are tough, but like surgery to an injury, this is the necessary first step to a better Nigeria,” Bala said.
He described President Tinubu as “God-sent” to reverse decades of economic and infrastructural decay. He noted that fixing the country’s long-standing challenges requires time and collective endurance, expressing hope that he would be returned next year.
Also Speaking, the Deputy Director-General of the movement, Zack Orji, cited specific fiscal policies implemented under the Renewed Hope Agenda, including the removal of fuel subsidy, the creation of regional development commissions with ₦150 billion take-off grants, and Supreme Court-backed financial autonomy for local governments.
“The President has made sure there are enough funds at every level to take care of the people. Reforms are painful, but in two years, Nigerians will see the full results,” Orji stated.
