Horror as three siblings found dead on father’s farm in Ondo

Residents of Oke Ogba, Akure, Ondo State, have been thrown into mourning after three siblings were found dead on their father’s farm near a stream in the community.

The victims, identified as 11-year-old twin brothers, Joshua and Jacob Jonah, and their five-year-old sister, Blessing Jonah, reportedly went to the farm with their father, Samuel Jonah, on Friday but later left for home while their father remained on the farm.

The tragedy came to light after their father returned home and discovered that the children were missing.

According to a source, the family immediately began searching for the siblings, with the search eventually leading to the farm where their lifeless bodies were discovered on Saturday.

The circumstances surrounding the deaths remained unclear as of the time of filing this report.

Confirming the incident, the Ondo State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, said the command had commenced an investigation.

Jimoh said the incident occurred around the Owena Army Barracks area of Akure on September 4, 2026.

He said, “The Ondo State Police Command confirms the tragic loss of three siblings at a farm located around the Owena Army Barracks, Akure, on 4th September 2026.

“The victims, identified as Joshua Jonah, 11 years; Jacob Jonah, 11 years, (twins) and Blessing Jonah, five years, reportedly accompanied their father, Samuel Jonah, to the farm.

“They later left the farm for home, but were discovered missing when their father returned home. A search was subsequently conducted and on 5th September 2026, the bodies of the three children were discovered around the bank of a small river within the farm.”

The police spokesperson said the bodies had been taken by their father for burial.

He added that the command was still documenting the incident and investigating to establish what led to the deaths of the three children.
