Human rights activist and politician Omoyele Sowore has shared his version of an alleged encounter with Nigerian music star Davido, making fresh claims about the circumstances surrounding their reported disagreement.
Sowore alleged that he came across Davido after police officers had stopped the singer, claiming that Davido appeared intimidated and avoided him.
According to Sowore, “The police stopped Davido and he chickened out. I walked past him, he saw me and ran away.”
He further claimed that the police invited Davido the following day to participate as the leader of an End SARS-related activity.
However, Sowore alleged that the situation took a different turn before Davido entered an elevator. He claimed that police officers pulled the singer aside and told him they wanted to discuss an alleged murder case reportedly linked to Lagos.
Sowore said, “A day after, the police invited him to come be the leader of End SARS, but before he got in the elevator, they called him aside and told him they’ll like to discuss the murder he committed in Lagos…”
The claims have since generated reactions online, with social media users expressing mixed views. While some questioned the basis of Sowore’s allegations, others accused him of continuing his long-running dispute with the Adeleke family.
Neither the alleged murder claim nor the circumstances described by Sowore should be treated as established fact without independent verification.
