Oil field dispute: Ex-Delta APC treasurer beaten to coma

The former Treasurer of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Secretary-General of Uwheru Kingdom, Chief Edewor Akpedafe, has been hospitalized after he was allegedly beaten to pulp by suspected thugs during a meeting at Ughelli in Delta State.

The victim left with indelible injuries on his forehead, as the meeting dovetailed into crisis.

He was swiftly rushed to the Emergency Unit of the Central Hospital in Ughelli as blood was gushing out of his head.

The bloodbath, which was said to have occurred at the Ughelli residence of the Ughelli North Local Government chairman dvisory Committee, Olorogun Miller Ulolo, was convened to settle scores on a land dispute over ownership of an oil field between Evwreni Kingdom and Uwheru Kingdom.

The victim, who represented Uwheru Kingdom at the meeting, was attacked and severely beaten at the venue.

A participant at the meeting said, “He was beaten, dragged into one of the Sienna buses outside, where the hoodlums further descended on him. The two mobile policemen at the venue were helpless.

“When his condition became fearful at the local government Secretariat where he was bundled to, they abandoned him in the pull of his blood before the Ughelli Area Commander, ACP Olasunkanmi Musiliu, came to his rescue and directed that he should be rushed to the Central Hospital for urgent medical attention.”
