Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has called on Muslims to use the 2026 Eid-el-Maulud celebration to reflect on the teachings and exemplary life of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
In a message marking the occasion, the governor urged the Muslim faithful to uphold values such as truthfulness, kindness, generosity, patience, humility and service to humanity.
He said the celebration should go beyond festivities, stressing the need for Muslims and other citizens to promote compassion, righteousness and peaceful coexistence in their communities.
According to him, the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) provide important lessons for addressing divisions and building a more peaceful and united society.
Governor Mohammed urged residents of Bauchi State to appreciate their ethnic, religious and cultural differences, noting that diversity should serve as a foundation for unity and development rather than division.
He also appealed to Muslims to pray for peace, security and economic prosperity across the country.
The governor assured residents that his administration would continue to prioritise development while maintaining peace and security across the state.
He said investments in education, healthcare, agriculture and infrastructure would remain central to the administration’s development agenda.
Governor Bala congratulated the Muslim Ummah on the celebration and prayed for Allah’s continued guidance, protection and blessings upon Bauchi State and Nigeria.
