Tears flowed freely in Ilaro, Ogun State, on Monday as the remains of veteran Nollywood actor, Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, were laid to rest according to Islamic rites.
Family members, friends, colleagues and sympathisers gathered to bid farewell to the 66-year-old actor.
An emotional scene was witnessed as mourners carried Ogogo’s remains to his final resting place. His close friend and colleague, Yinka Quadri, was visibly devastated and was seen crying uncontrollably as mourners tried to console him. Other Nollywood stars, including Jide Kosoko, Faithia Balogun, Femi Adebayo, Mr Latin, Toyosi Adesanya, Ireti Osayemi and Bisi Omo Logbalogba, were also present.

Ogogo died on Sunday at the age of 66 after battling stage-four cancer. His death came days after his daughters, Kaira and Lima Taiwo, appealed for medical assistance, saying doctors had stopped chemotherapy because of his condition. The veteran actor, who spent over four decades in the Nigerian film industry, featured in hundreds of Yoruba-language movies and remained one of the most recognised faces in Nollywood.
