Panic has gripped Abu community in Fadan Ninzo Chiefdom, Sanga local Government Area, after gunmen kidnapped two persons and killed two others in an attacked on Saturday night of 22nd August 2026, in Southern parts of Kaduna State’s NorthWest Nigeria.
The incident occurred between 8:00pm and 9:00pm in Abu community, according to a statement signed by Aminu A. Abdullahi, Dan Malikin Ninzo and Council Secretary to His Highness, Uchu Fadan Ninzo.
One of the kidnapped victims was identified as Mr. Ezekiel from Gwantu, owner of a private clinic located close to the residence of the late District Head of Abu District.
The second Kidnapped victim is the wife of the late District Head of Abu, Mr. Audu Galadima, also known as Fagachin Ninzo.
The statement said the two persons killed were walking by the road close to the clinic when they were flashed by hoodlums hiding in a teak plantation behind the clinic.
According to the eyewitness accounts, the victims were shot after they sought to know who flashed them.
“Security personnel quickly came to the scene and are doing the needful,” the statement said.
His Highness, Uchu Fadan Ninzo, condemned “in the strongest terms this emerging waves of banditry in the Chiefdom” and urged security agencies to intensify surveillance in the area.
He also called on all communities in the chiefdom to comply with the directive from the Palace to set up functional vigilance groups to secure their respective communities.
The traditional ruler prayed for the repose of the souls of the two deceased and for the families to have “the courage and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.” He also prayed for the “safe and speedy release of the kidnapped victims.”
The attack adds to growing security concerns in parts of Kaduna South Senatorial District, where kidnapping and armed attacks have persisted despite ongoing security operations.
Security agencies are yet to issue an official update on efforts to track the abductors, at the time of filing this report Sunday afternoon.
