Kaduna State Police Command has arrested six suspected kidnappers and dismantled a their hideout in Dogon Pako Village, Ikara Local Government Area of the state.
The arrests followed credible information from an escaped kidnap victim and intelligence provided by members of the public, the command said in a statement on Tuesday.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Mansir Hassan, the victim reported to the police on 11th August, 2026 and gave a detailed description of the house of one Ja’e Samalu, 65, where he was held captive.
Upon receiving the information, the Divisional Police Officer, Ikara Division, mobilized a team of police operatives alongside members of the Vigilante Service and raided the location.
Those arrested during the operation: Ja’e Samalu, male, 65 years; Abdul-Aziz Musa, alias “Kire”, male, 35 years; Jafar Isah, male, 25 years; Yunusa Musa, male, 22 years; Shu’aibu Musa, male, 20 years; Rakiya Samalu, female, 50 years, alleged to be the mother of the suspects and caretaker of the captive.
“The suspects are currently in Police custody. Investigation is ongoing to ascertain their individual roles and to apprehend other members of the criminal network,” DSP Hassan stated.
The Commissioner of Police, Kaduna State Command, CP Muhammad Rabiu, commended the operatives and members of the public “whose prompt information led to the success of the operation.”
He urged residents to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious persons, movements, or activities in their communities to the nearest police formation.
The CP further warned that criminal elements may be using residential buildings as hideouts or holding facilities for kidnapped victims.
“Community vigilance and timely information sharing remain critical to preventing and dismantling kidnapping networks,” he stressed.
