Fubara to commission multiple projects, pledges development in every community

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara has pledged to take development to the communities that make up the state’s 23 local government areas, stressing his readiness to commence the next phase of commissioning of people-oriented projects.

According to the governor, the projects to be commissioned underscores his administration’s determination to ensure that governance translates into meaningful and measurable benefits that can be seen across the State.

The governor, who spoke in Government House through the secretary to the state government, Mr. Dagogo Wokoma, said the projects scheduled for commissioning are tangible evidence to transform Rivers communities and address the people’s development needs.

The commissioning would run from Monday, August 17, 2026, through Monday, August 31, 2026, including the Buguma – Degema – Abonnema Road, which spans across Asari Toru and Akuku Toru LGAs.

Also to be commissioned is the , Egwi – Afara – Mba Road, in Etche LGA; the Rivers State House of Assembly Complex, in Port Harcourt LGA; Omademe Internal Roads, Omademe in Ikwerre LGA; the New Air Force Base Runway in Port Harcourt LGA and the Elele – Egbeda -Omoku Dual Carriage Way, to hich spans across three LGAs of Ikwerre, Emouha and Onelga.

Others are Capt. Elechi Polytechnic Entrepreneurship Centre/Engineering Faculty Building in Rumuola , Obio/Akpor LGA; Agba Ndele Road and Bridge, Ndele in Emouha LGA.

The last batch of projects to be commissioned are the New Zonal Hospital, Omoku in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni LGA; Neuro Psychiatric Hospital and New General Hospital, Rumuigbo, Obio/Akpor LGA and Bonny National Grammar School, Bonny LGA.

The governor said: “As we prepare for these historic events, we acknowledge the dedication and contributions of government officials, contractors, host communities, and other stakeholders whose collective efforts have made these achievements possible;

“We invite all Rivers people to join in celebrating these milestones and to continue supporting the administration of Governor Siminalayi Fubara as it advances peace, development, progress, and prosperity;

“Together, we will continue to build a Rivers State where development reaches every community and every citizen has the opportunity to thrive.”
