The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Enugu State has stated that in view of the brand of leadership of the duo of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu and Governor Peter Mbah both persons do not deserve to be elected for another four years.
According to a Chieftain of the ADC in the area , Dr Sir Walter Oji the monumental failure in governance in the country the All Progressives Congress APC should not be voted for in the coming election.
The opposition figure made this declaration at the inaugural meeting of an ADC support group, G24 for Atiku Abubakar and Ocho Obodoeze 2027 Movement in Enugu.
Oji whose remarks resonated with the crowd at the event, lamented the hunger, hardship and insecurity bedeviling the country since the APC came to power, both at the Federal and State levels.
He blamed the misgovernance of the APC government for the country’s persistent economic hardship, widespread poverty and unprecedented security challenges in the country.
Quoting him: “It is time to tell Bola Tinubu that he has failed Nigerians and it is time for him to vacate Aso Rock, so that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the man who knows the road to prosperity, security and development, will come in to lead us come 2027, as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“It is also time to tell Peter Mba that he has failed the people of Enugu State, with his poverty increasing and hardship producing policies, high taxation and tariff on everyone in Enugu State, causing severe increase in inflation, high rent and high cost of transport and food prices.
“I can go on and on, but let me stop here by telling you to inform the people of Enugu State, once the time for campaign commences, to send Peter Mbah packing from Enugu Lion Buiilding, so that Chief Ocho Obodoeze, the man who knows the way to progress, prosperity and development, will take over as Governor of Enugu State come 2027.”
Oji commended the organisers of the event for the robust show of support for His Excellency, the ADC Presidential Candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the Governorship Candidate in Enugu State, Chief Ocho Obodoeze and other ADC candidates for the 2027 general election.
He, however, urged the support groups not to depend on the resources of the party and the candidates for their activities, but to count on resources of their members, party stakeholders and friends.
While appealing to the support groups to look at the bigger picture, rather than momentary gains, he urged them to use their time and resources to reach all the people at the grassroots with the message of hope in 2027.
“A message that power is in their hands to right the wrongs of misgovernance, the wrongs of hunger, the wrongs of insecurity, and in fact, unequalled and historic hardship that has beset the country since the capture of the leadership by the APC governments at the Federal and State levels,” Oji said.
