The newly appointed General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division of the Nigerian Army, Major General Maxwell Dangana, has commenced a familiarisation tour of military formations under his command with a courtesy visit to Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed.
Major General Dangana, who recently succeeded Major General Eyitayo Folusho Oyinlola, said the visit was aimed at assessing formations and strengthening cooperation with critical stakeholders across the division’s operational area.
The 3 Division oversees military operations in Bauchi, Plateau, Taraba, Gombe and Adamawa states.
The Army commander described his visit to Bauchi as a homecoming, noting that he spent part of his early years in the state and has maintained a strong attachment to it.
Responding, Governor Mohammed congratulated the GOC on his appointment and commended the Nigerian Army for its dedication in protecting the country against security threats.
He reiterated the state government’s readiness to work closely with the military and other security agencies to improve intelligence sharing, strengthen operations and maintain peace across Bauchi State.
The governor also appreciated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for supporting ongoing security operations in Alkaleri Local Government Area through the deployment of additional troops and resources.
