Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has congratulated Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya, on her historic election as President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), describing her emergence as a landmark achievement for the legal profession and a source of inspiration for women across the country.
In a congratulatory message on Monday, the governor said Badejo-Okusanya’s election as only the second female president in the history of the NBA was a testament to her decades of hard work, professional excellence and unwavering commitment to justice and the rule of law.
According to Sanwo-Olu, the accomplished legal practitioner has consistently distinguished herself through legal precision, integrity and dedication to the advancement of the profession, making her well-suited for the leadership of Nigeria’s foremost body of lawyers.
“Becoming only the second female president in the history of the Nigerian Bar Association is no small feat and is a well-deserved milestone,” the governor said.
“Over the years, she has built a reputation for excellence, legal precision and an unwavering commitment to the rule of law. Her rise to the leadership of the Bar reflects decades of hard work and relentless dedication to justice.”
Sanwo-Olu noted that Badejo-Okusanya’s victory represents a proud moment for the legal profession and serves as a powerful encouragement to young women in Lagos and across Nigeria to aspire to leadership positions.
He expressed confidence that the new NBA president would provide visionary leadership capable of strengthening the association and advancing the cause of justice in the country.
“I have full confidence that her tenure will bring visionary leadership and advance the cause of justice in our society,” the governor added.
